Xolotl Lucio Ventures LLC is a disciplined venture firm that identifies and backs companies with the potential to transform industries. We evaluate every opportunity through a proprietary 9-Point Framework — assessing the strength of the leadership, the soundness of the business, and the depth of the market. XLV does not chase trends. We pursue transformation.
XLV evaluates every opportunity through a proprietary 9-Point Framework. We examine the founder, the team, and the business itself — assessing leadership, organizational depth, and the fundamentals of the company. Every point must hold. A great founder with a broken business model is a vision without a future. A sound business with the wrong leader is a foundation without anyone who can build on it.
XLV identifies and invests in companies across six sectors where the leadership is exceptional and the business fundamentals are sound. In every case, the 9-Point Framework applies — five points on the team, four on the business. Where XLV takes a position, board participation may be part of the structure, bringing strategic guidance alongside capital to accelerate the company's trajectory.
Companies where XLV has identified exceptional potential — evaluating leadership, market position, business fundamentals, and long-term trajectory through the 9-Point Framework before committing capital.

Before there was a firm, there was a name. And behind that name — a mythology older than modern civilization, carrying a philosophy that shapes everything XLV does.
In Aztec mythology, Xolotl is the god of lightning — the raw, sudden force that illuminates what is hidden and strikes with undeniable truth. He is the twin of Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent, and together they represent the duality of the divine: transformation and wisdom, descent and ascent, destruction and creation. Where Quetzalcoatl rules the sky, Xolotl commands the underworld — navigating darkness with purpose, and returning from it with life.
Every night, the sun must pass through Mictlan — the nine-layered Aztec underworld — to rise again. It is Xolotl who guides it through. He also escorts the souls of the dead on their journey through darkness, ensuring that what must complete its cycle does so safely, and that what must be reborn finds its way back to light. He does not conquer the darkness. He knows it. He moves through it with certainty — guiding what matters toward its next form.
In the Aztec creation story, after the destruction of a previous world, the gods needed to create a new humanity. It was Xolotl and his twin who descended into the land of the dead and stole the bones of the previous civilization — defying death itself to forge something entirely new from what had been left behind. From those stolen bones, mixed with the blood of the gods, current humanity was born. Creation was not given. It was taken — by those willing to descend into the darkness and return with something the world had never seen.
Xolotl is also the patron of the Xoloitzcuintli — the sacred hairless dog of ancient Mexico, believed to guide their owners through the underworld after death. These were not guard dogs or working animals. They were companions in the deepest sense — present not in the good times, but in the hardest journey a soul could face. They stayed when everything else was gone. That is the kind of investor XLV aspires to be: not the one who shows up for the celebration, but the one who stays through the descent.
XLV does not merely borrow the name. It carries the ethos. Four principles define how this firm moves — and what it stands for.
Every company XLV backs is built from borrowed bones — ideas that defied the odds, teams that descended into uncertainty, and a firm that saw the potential before anyone else did. That is not mythology. That is the work.
Whether you are a founder with a differentiated business and the leadership to execute it, an LP exploring co-investment, or a strategic partner — XLV evaluates every opportunity with the same rigor it applies to every investment. We respond to every inquiry personally.
